Job description

This is an entry level role suitable for anybody with a passion for IT.  No previous work experience is required, however we are looking for somebody who has a good understanding of Windows, Linux, networking or coding. For example, you have setup your own home network or written your own programs as a hobby.  This is also suitable for graduates looking for a first position in IT.

You will receive training to become a Microsoft 365 specialist including Office 365, Exchange, Teams and SharePoint.

Your day-to-day tasks will include:

  • Helping users with day-to-day issues.

  • Supporting Windows 10, Apple MacOS, iOS and Android devices.

  • Using PowerShell scripts for administration of Microsoft 365 and Servers.

  • Packaging applications for auto-deployment via Microsoft Intune.

  • Monitoring systems for security and errors.

This is an exciting opportunity as you will be supporting a variety of IT systems in areas of Finance, Logistics, Healthcare, Construction, Media and Education.

You will be joining a like-minded team of technical specialists at our offices at The Sharp Project, a Manchester-based hub which is home to 54 digital companies and recognised as one of the best workplaces in the country by the British Council for Offices.

Minimum entry requirements are:

  • You enjoy building positive relationships with people and strive to provide the best customer service.

  • You understand the basics of TCP/IP routing, e.g. you know what a subnet mask is and what a default gateway is.

  • You have evidence of a natural aptitude towards computing - for example, you have written programs, designed and hosted a website, use Linux, participate on technical forums, run a network at home.
