The Zen of ICT9

As a fast moving organisation that needs to balance client requirements, security and knowledge transfer, we are guided by a modified subset of the PEP 20 aphorisms.

  • Beautiful is better than ugly.

  • Explicit is better than implicit.

  • Simple is better than complex.

  • Complex is better than complicated.

  • Special cases aren't special enough to break the rules.

  • Although practicality beats purity.

  • Now is better than never.

  • Although never is often better than *right* now.

  • If the implementation is hard to explain, it's a bad idea.

  • If the implementation is easy to explain, it may be a good idea.

  • Tenancies are one honking great idea -- let's do more of those!

An Agile approach to managed service provision

ICT9's roots are in coding and development operations.  We believe the values and principles exposed by the Agile Manifesto are just as applicable to Managed Service Provision.

  • Individuals and interactions over processes and tools

  • Working systems over comprehensive documentation

  • Customer collaboration over contract negotiation

  • Responding to change over following a plan
